黄河こうが と 長江ちょうこう　Yellow River and Yangtze River

中国ちゅうごくの 「華北かほく」 には、（①　黄河こうが　　） が　流ながれています。この川かわ　の　まわり では（　小麦こむぎ　）の 栽培さいばい が さかん です。
In the “North China” region, the （①Yellow River） flows. （ Wheat ） cultivation is popular around this river.

中国ちゅうごく の 「華中かちゅう」 を 流ながれ、（② 東ひがしシナ海かい 　）に 注そそぐ 川かわ　は（③　長江ちょうこう 〔　揚子江ようすこう  〕）　です。この川かわ　の　まわり　では　（　米こめ　）の 栽培さいばい が さかん です。
In “Central China,” the river that flows into the （② East China Sea ） is the （③ Yangtze River ). （ Rice ） cultivation is popular around this river.

都市とし と 工業 こうぎょう Cities and Industry

（④　北京ぺきん〔ペキン〕）は　中華ちゅうか人民じんみん共和国きょうわこく　の　首都しゅと　　です。
（④Beijing） is the capital of the People’s Republic of China.

（⑤　上海しゃんはい　〔シャンハイ〕）　は　「長江ちょうこう」　の　河口かこう　に　あります。上海しゃんはい　は　中国ちゅうごく　最大さいだい　の　商業しょうぎょう・工業こうぎょう　都市としです。
（⑤Shanghai） is located at the mouth of the “Yangtze River.” Shanghai is China’s largest commercial and industrial city.

（⑥　香港ほんこん　〔ホンコン〕）では、工業こうぎょう　や  金融業きんゆうぎょう　が　さかん　です。香港ほんこん　は　1997年ねん　に　イギリス　から　返還へんかん され　ました。
In （⑥Hong Kong）, industry and finance are thriving. Hong Kong was returned from the UK in 1997.

中華ちゅうか人民じんみん共和国きょうわこく は、沿岸部えんがんぶ 　に、（　経済けいざい特区とっく 　）〔経済けいざい特別区とくべつく〕 を　おいて、外国がいこく　企業きぎょう　を　受うけ入いれ　て　工業化こうぎょうか　を　進すすめ　ました。
The People’s Republic of China has established （ Special Economic Zones ）along the coast to accept foreign companies and promote industrialization.

アジア NIESにーず Asian NIEs

「⑦ 大韓民国だいかんみんこく（韓国かんこく）」「⑧ 台湾たいわん　」「⑥ 香港ほんこん」「シンガポール」　など　は、「アジアNIESにーず」　と　よば　れ　て　います。
“⑦South Korea,” “⑧Taiwan,” “⑥Hong Kong,” and “Singapore” are called “Asian NIEs.”

「NIESにーず」　は（　　新興しんこう　工業こうぎょう　経済けいざい　地域ちいき　　）〔Newly Industrializing Economies〕　です。
“NIEs” stands for Newly Industrializing Economies.
